Joe DiDomenico

This is the "short story".

I'm Joe DiDomenico, a singer-songwriter based in Orlando, Florida, and I've been playing guitar for more than four decades. In 2009, I bought my first piano and taught myself to play, which opened up an entirely new level of creativity for me. Since then, I've written countless songs on piano, many of which found their way onto my albums, The Apple and Protocol of Forgotten Frequencies.

That same year, I picked up an electronic drum kit. Thankfully, years of air drumming since childhood gave me a decent head start. I wouldn't call myself a master of any one instrument, but I've become comfortable enough with several of them to bring my songs to life in a way I truly enjoy. Recording music has always been one of the most rewarding creative experiences for me, and I hope listeners connect with these songs as much as I enjoyed making them.

Music has always been running through my head. For as long as I can remember, melodies and song ideas have constantly appeared out of nowhere, and when inspiration hits, I usually rush to the guitar or piano before the idea disappears. If I don't record it right away, chances are it'll be gone by the next morning.

One of the most exciting parts of creating Protocol of Forgotten Frequencies was finally being able to resurrect songs that had been sitting in the vault for years. AI gave me the opportunity to take rough demos and unfinished ideas and turn them into fully realized songs - all without needing to argue with the bass player. While AI can sometimes be just as finicky as humans when it comes to getting exactly what you want, it never misses a note. The process takes patience and experimentation, and these songs may not be exactly how I originally imagined them, but they're close enough to finally bring them to life.

Many of the songs on The Apple were inspired by my wife and her daughters, whose love and presence have deeply enriched my life. Their influence can be felt throughout my more recent music, and I'm incredibly grateful for the inspiration they've given me.

My biggest musical influence will always be The Beatles. Their songwriting and creativity shaped the way I think about music, though I've also been inspired by many other artists from that era as well as plenty of modern musicians. I appreciate great music no matter when it was made.

Thanks for listening, supporting independent music, and being part of the journey.

Outside of music, I'm also the owner of Embryo Design Inc and DiviGuy.com
