Semper Fi – V2 – The Apple

Artist: Joe DiDomenico

This is the more polished/produced song. A powerful anthem to honor the bravery and sacrifice of our Marines and armed services. Written for my Uncle Tom who served honorably in the Marine Corps.

I got the call that he died while we were recording this version for The Apple at Steve Hall’s house in Tampa, FL. The energy immediately changed and everyone gave it their all in such a positive way. The recording session turned into a tribute and it’s too bad we didn’t video that. My Uncle Tom is still my hero. Semper fi.

I’m playing the piano and I think some rhythm guitar.

Special thanks to:

Mark Fries for his vocal
Jason Perdue for bass
Steve Hall for producing, mixing, drum tracks, guitar solo and almost everything else

Song Lyrics

Secrets and unspoken words
Only few will know…his voice they heard
He went to war…he flew so high
He found his place…he found his pride

Our lives have changed in so many ways
When I look back on my younger days
Admiration Adulation our flag is high
Because of you… we’ll never die

Semper Fi … you fighted for change
A Legacy Remains … you’re my hero (oorah!, yeah)

My country my tis of thee
This country bows unto thee
Pride, honor and dignity
A marine, a man, and Uncle Tom to me

It’s sad to think that some may never see
A marine, a man, and Uncle Tom to me
You were, you are, you’ll always be
A marine, a man, but Uncle Tom to me

Semper Fi … you fighted for change
A Legacy Remains … you’re my hero (oorah!, yeah)

Semper Fi … you fighted for change
A Legacy Remains … you’re my hero (oorah!, yeah)

Semper Fi! (oorah!)
Semper Fi!! (oorah!, yeah)
