Taking me back to my early days
I wonder how I made it through my crazy ways
Smoking and a toking, drinking up the pain

The 80s and the 90s tried to sweep it all away
But the ghost of who I was keeps pulling me back to stay

One thing I know for sure

Now I’ve come down, calmed down, counted up the cost
Staring at the wreckage of everything I lost
Pour another whiskey, chase it down with gin
Watch the wheel keep turning, starting up again

There must be something more than chasing down the win
Without a face of fake smiles and a plate full of sin!

Pushed me to the limit, put me to the test
Iron in the fire, smoke behind my eyes
Living in a town full of crazy lies
